Separate the three decisions

Rockstar offers Standard and Ultimate editions, with an Ultimate upgrade available separately. Compare the base game, edition extras and time-limited purchase offers as three different parts of the decision.

Start by opening the current storefront pages for your own platform and country. Compare the same currency, platform and payment conditions. A screenshot of a different region’s price is not a reliable substitute for the total shown at your checkout.

Put a value on the extras

Read the full item description rather than deciding from an edition name. Make a short list of extras that actually interest you, then compare the additional cost with that list.

We have not played the released game, so we are not assigning gameplay value to equipment, vehicles or cosmetic items. Descriptions of included content establish what is sold; they do not establish whether every player will find that content worthwhile.

  • Compare the exact current product listings.
  • Separate permanent edition content from purchase promotions.
  • Check whether an item is cosmetic, functional or still unclear.
  • Decide using the price difference in your own store.

You can leave the decision open

A separate upgrade means the choice does not have to depend entirely on a prediction about which extras you will enjoy. Check the upgrade listing and applicable conditions before relying on a later purchase.

Do not assume a standalone upgrade is offered at the same price as the difference between two bundles. Compare the actual listings when making your decision; this page intentionally avoids an unverified universal price.

Our buying approach

For a buyer who mainly wants the campaign, start the comparison with Standard. Consider Ultimate when its listed extras have clear value to you at the current price. This is a decision method, not a hands-on verdict on unreleased content.

Save the order confirmation and the edition description. After purchase, verify the edition in your library before buying anything else to avoid paying twice for an add-on already included in the order.
